Jewellery and handbag snatched in burglary

Designer jewellery and a handbag were stolen during a burglary.

Police in Newport are appealing for information following the break in at a property in Chetwynd Aston, near Newport.

The break-in happened some time between the hours of 11am to 2.45pm on Monday when thieves took a black John Rocha bag with red leather handles and a number of necklaces, including a Vivienne Westwood necklace and pearl necklaces.

Gold jewellery was also taken.

Detective Constable Simon Dunn, said: "Investigations are ongoing and we are urging anybody who may have any information regarding the incident, or who may have seen anything suspicious in the area at the time, to get in contact."
