Richard Jones spoke of his shock and happiness at seeing the pictures returned – especially because many of them show never to be repeated images of bride Anna-Maria and her father.

The theft happened on Monday, April 10, at Pendrell Hall, Codsall Wood.

Richard said: "On Sunday we gave up. It had been a fortnight. It just seemed past the point that we would ever see those pictures again.

"When I got the call to say the memory cards had been found, I was shaking. I wasn't expecting it at all. I'm relieved, I know they're there because I've checked them, but I'm now waiting for that minute where I can sit down and go through them.

"The pictures showed everything from the start of the day through to the wedding breakfast. The main thing that got me were the important moments of the day with Anna and her dad."

Richard said photographer Shaun Culliss, from Church Stretton, had been devastated by the loss.

"Shaun was devastated on the day and he has been ever since. The police couldn't get hold of him yesterday, so I messaged him and he told me had to re-read it a number of times before it sunk in.

"For me it put a cloud on our big day. Everything happened that we wanted to happen, we still got married, but it put a damper on things.

"There's some very unique and personal photos there that we wouldn't have had otherwise, and getting them back makes up for it. We're very happy."

Darren McTaggart, aged 37, of Lime Grove, Bilston, is charged with one count of theft and will appear before magistrates in Cannock on May 15.
