Police executed a drugs warrant at a property in Moston Road at about 9.15am this morning in what they described as an intelligence-led operation.

A 19-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of producing cannabis. Officers say the man initially made off from police.

A spokesman for West Mercia Police said: "Hundreds of suspected cannabis plants are to be seized from the address and a male aged 19 was arrested after initially making off from police.

"He remains in police custody on suspicion of a production of cannabis offence.

"The property is a semi-detached house where several rooms have been converted to grow hundreds of cannabis plants.

"A well-made ventilation and heating system has been made by the offenders."

Later a 45-year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of cannabis production.

Police had to wait for the property to be made safe before starting their investigations.

This afternoon officers tweeted:
