Derek Roy Thomas – whose most recent home address was in Dawley – has been recalled to prison by the probation service for breaking the terms of his licence following his release in May.

The 36-year-old was serving a prison term for burglary, dangerous driving and driving whilst disqualified before being released on licence.

Detective Sergeant Paul Mathison said: "Derek Thomas has been a prolific offender in the past and we believe is deliberately evading capture as he knows he has breached the terms of his licence.

"Recent intelligence reports suggest he has been seen driving whilst disqualified and this would break the conditions that saw him released from prison.

"We have searched numerous addresses in an attempt to locate and arrest him but at the present time we have not been able to track him down.

"We believe someone may be harbouring him and I would warn anyone who is helping him that they will be dealt with robustly when we find out.

"If you have any information regarding Derek Thomas's whereabouts, we would urge you to contact us on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111."

Mr Mathison said police would appreciate any information from the public that could assist them.
