Milestone moment and a memorable year for Telford's Chrisbeon

Chrisbeon claimed an impressive win at the Shropshire Chamber of Commerce awards and enjoyed another 12 months of ongoing growth. 

Run by brothers Craig and Richard Hughes, the company, which marked its official 50th birthday on December 2, 2024, has retained the family values that their dad Brian and his cousin Chris championed when the business launched in 1974.

Chrisbeon, based on Stafford Park in Telford, is a leading office furniture and equipment provider and the last year has seen increased customer growth and an expansion of products and services.

Richard said: “It was a big year for the company, marking 50 years in business, and another successful one. Things have moved on in many ways since 1974, but one thing remains our top priority - commitment to our clients.

“We continue to see growth as a company, increasing our client base, which is very important while retaining those satisfied clients who keep coming back. Over the coming year, we are looking forward to developing this further, and early indications show that we are on course for another successful year.

“During 2024, we have been out and about in the community catching up with old friends and meeting new ones. We were proud to sponsor the Shropshire County Show in May - another marvellous showpiece event for the county, and were delighted to attend Shropshire Business Festival at Wrekin College. 

“Attendance at the business festival was up 40 per cent on its launch in 2023 with hundreds of firms from across the region represented, and our Chrisbeon Office Furniture Racecourse was quite the centre of attention on the day.

“We were honoured to be named Best Small Business at another successful Shropshire Chamber of Commerce Awards in June - one of the largest events on the county business calendar each year, and were pleased to launch our new webstore, streamlining the process for customers to order and receive deliveries directly to their door, making our products more readily available and accessible online.

“Sustainability remains a focus for us and our substantial preloved range is as popular as ever - remaining a very big and successful part of our business. We have also helped many businesses plan new offices, providing the furniture, putting it in place - and seeing the plans all come to fruition.”

Craig said: “Our commitment to the environment remains strong through things like recycled environmentally-friendly seating fabrics, reducing our carbon footprint and cutting back on the use of paper and catalogues with a greater emphasis on online ordering.

“During the last year, we have helped more businesses move premises, seen a rise in the number of people visiting our Stafford Park showroom to view our comprehensive range of products, and had more clients using our CAD 3D planning services.

“We remain a committed patron of Shropshire Chamber of Commerce, regularly attending chamber events and networking opportunities, meeting other like-minded Shropshire businesses, and we have also continued our support for charities and other good causes wherever we can.
