The informal spring get together hosted by networking group Shropshire Constructing Excellence (SCE) will be held at the Loopy Shrew in Bellstone, on April 25, between 4pm and 6pm.

It will be an opportunity for members and non-members to get together and discuss local projects and find out more about what events SCE is planning during the course of the year.

SCE chairman Paul Moran said with the recent announcement of some major projects in the area, it was the perfect time for businesses within the sector to come together and discuss how adopting best practice can make us all more competitive.

He said: "The Department of Transport has committed funding for the £54 million North West Relief Road around Shrewsbury; the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) has confirmed the award of £9.3 million from the Housing Infrastructure Fund (HIF) to improve the road network on the A5 at Mile End and improve the viability of planned housing developments in Oswestry; and in Telford the council has announced it is to invest £1 million to regenerate the borough's older estates.

"These are significant and major projects for the region and all present opportunities for Shropshire companies to be involved.

"The social will be a chance to discuss these projects in further detail and for members to hear about other events we have programmed for this year including our Diversity in Construction and Skills events.

"We look forward to seeing existing members and meeting new businesses who wish to become a part of the network."
