The owners of Tuffins Supermarket in Welshpool said they are delighted to partner with Shrewsbury's Planet Doughnut with the launch of the first ‘Dough & Go’ Concession.

Fresh Doughnuts will be available seven days a week during the trial period. They will be available in singles, doubles, fours and sixes, and local deliveries will also be available through Zoom 1hr.

Tuffins owner Harry Delves said: "We are delighted to be trialling this new concept. We have been selling Planet Doughnut in store for nine months now and customers love the variety and quality of doughnuts on offer.

"This is a totally new route to market for the brand now and we are delighted to be the first trial site.

"It is a fellow local, Shropshire business. We started selling them during the pandemic at the time to help and support a fellow Shropshire business and promote a good product as well. It is a locally-grown business and a family-run business like ours, which is now in its fourth generation.

"We have always prided ourselves on selling products that others don't have and we are proud to support other independent producers. So it is fantastic to have them in store."

Duncan McGregor at Planet Doughnut said they were excited about the new venture.

"We are really pleased to be opening our new ‘Dough & Go’ Concession at Tuffins," Duncan said.

"We think this concept can really work well for us in the future and once the trial has completed we can roll them out pretty quickly and easily.

"The pandemic has presented us a number of challenges as a small family business but we are really excited for what the future holds."
