The Ladder for Shropshire is helping to produce a virtual event during National Apprenticeship Week.

The Apprenticeship, Employment and Skills Live Show, usually held at Telford International Centre, will be replicated virtually this year

The event will be live throughout the week commencing February 8 and will feature a host of timetabled activities.

It will include live interaction with providers, employers and existing apprentices.

There will also be lots of opportunities for potential apprentices, parents, teachers and employers to ask questions.

It is being held virtually as the annual Apprenticeship, Employment and Skills Live Show at the Telford International Centre and the Apprenticeship Show at Shrewsbury Town Football Club cannot go ahead as normal this year because of the pandemic.

In previous years both the live events have welcomed thousands of visitors.

The shows give people the chance to find out about the wide range of careers available through apprenticeships.

Opportunities

Visitors can speak to employers from local companies that are offering the positions, as well as the training providers that will be supporting the training.

This will be replicated virtually this year with even more information available, organisers say.

Amanda Carpenter, project lead for Ladder for Shropshire, said: “The virtual live event will be a fantastic opportunity to see first-hand what incredible opportunities are out there.

“It will showcase what employers have to offer and share several success stories of people who started their careers as apprentices and have gone on to achieve great things.

“We will also be showcasing live apprenticeship vacancies.

“Please put February 8 to 12 in the diary and don’t miss out on this fantastic event.”

All the information about the event and how to get involved will be available on the Ladder for Shropshire website at www.ladderforshropshire.org
