Anglo Welsh said up to 2,000 people each year would travel to its new site on the Prees branch of the Llangollen Canal.

The new premises is being opened in 2019 as part of a partnership with holiday company Hoseasons.

It will be the ninth base used by the companies to sell boating breaks on the Shropshire and Wales canal networks.

The new base near Whixall will be open from April, bringing the company’s fleet to 111 boats.

Llangollen Canal is a half hour cruise to join the main line, where cruisers can head left to the Welsh town itself or right to the Shropshire Union Canal.

Mark Warnes, property and portfolio director at Hoseasons, said: “We’re delighted to have extended our relationship with Anglo Welsh and are looking forward to bringing them even more customers in 2019."
