70 jobs to created as Telford firm is taken over
New jobs will be created by a takeover deal involving a Telford firm.
Alvic Plastics has been acquired by the UK’s leading integrated forestry and timber company.
BSW Group has bought the firm, based on Halesfield, and has multi-million pound plans to increase capacity and products offering.
The extrusion process will continue to be handled at the site in Telford, with finishing and distribution from Carlisle.
To support its growth and investment plans, the BSW Group is expecting to create an additional 70 new jobs, on top of the 21 currently employed, over the next three years.
Tony Hackney, chief executive at BSW Group, said: “Alvic joining the BSW Group is a fantastic opportunity for us to revolutionise wood plastic composite products in the UK.
“This means we can utilise Alvic’s extensive production knowledge and capability along with our own widespread customer base and national distribution.”
Alvic Plastics Limited is one of the largest producers of wood plastic composite.
The companies are currently working on the development of new products which are set to be announced and ready for production in 2019.
