Chip shop hopes get a battering
Proposals to create a chip shop inside a Shropshire village store have been turned down by planners.
Prospective new owners of The Knockin Shop in Knockin had applied for permission to use part of the shop as a takeaway.
The idea split the community, some objecting saying it would cause smells, litter and noise, others saying it could ensure the future of the shop and post office currently in the building.
Shropshire Council planners this week decided to refuse planning permission saying that the hot food element would affect the residential amenity of neighbours.
