Greggs already has an outlet in High Street in Newtown, however it is now looking to open another site on Pool Road.

The company has applied for planning permission to house a cafe on the former Arthurs Van Showroom, to change the use to a bakery and takeaway.

The bakers has begun to develop roadside and drive through style takeaways in other towns across the UK, and a similar design could come to Newtown.

Burger King has already been given approval for a drive through in the Tesco supermarket car park, and a new Costa Coffee shop opened in the former Angel pub on High Street last year.
