Joleen, who has lived at the Stiperstones Court retirement home in Shrewsbury since 2017, rode the ceremonial first kilometre of the home's mammoth cycling challenge in aid of a local hospice.
Staff and residents at the retirement home in Abbey Foregate are cycling the 837-mile distance from Land’s End to John O’Groats, all without leaving the development, using an exercise bike.
They expect to complete the feat in eight weeks, and are raising funds for Severn Hospice.

Volunteers are taking it in turns in the saddle, with staff and residents of a wide range of ages getting involved.
So far, six residents and 10 staff members have geared up for the challenge and virtually cycled more than 400 miles.
And, once it was mentioned to 91-year-old Joleen by Stiperstones Court estate manager, Vanessa Turner, she was eager to get involved.
"I’ve not ridden a bike for years, but when Vanessa mentioned the challenge, I immediately wanted to get involved," said the 91-year-old. "It’s certainly for a worthwhile cause."

The charity endeavour was Vanessa's brainchild and comes after a beloved resident was supported by Severn Hospice last year before sadly passing away from cancer.
Vanessa, staff and residents all agreed that the Severn Hospice was a fitting charity and that the cycling challenge was a worthy challenge to honour her memory.
Vanessa said: "The distance sounds intimidating, but when we all work together, I know we can achieve it!
"It also strengthens our vibrant community and helped beat the January blues. Helping our local hospice, who we have a close relationship with, made perfect sense.
"The effort from everyone at Stiperstones Court has been incredible and we’re all really excited to see how much we can raise for this brilliant local charity."
Another resident, Graham Peterson, kindly donated the exercise bike for the challenge, and staff have set up chairs for spectators to provide moral support as well as a radio for entertainment.
Community fundraiser at Severn Hospice, Philip Haigh, said: "We are incredibly grateful to Stiperstones Court for supporting us with such a fantastic challenge. Their efforts mean so much to us and the families we care for.
"All our care is provided for free, but it’s not without cost. For every £3 we spend, we must raise £2, so the fundraising really makes a difference to local people living with incurable illness. We hope the staff and residents at Stiperstones Court have a wonderful time completing this incredible challenge!"
