The Beacon hotel on Ironbridge Road in Madeley has now been standing empty for more than five years.
In early 2023, the former owners were issued with an urgent works notice and told to undertake immediate repairs to preserve the property.
The former pub was sold soon after with Carolyn Healy, borough councillor for the Ironbridge Gorge, saying at the time the community were "excited by the news" and looking forward to seeing the hotel "once again standing proudly in the local area".
The following May, plans were submitted to turn the pub into nine one-bedroom flats, with a further seven built on the site.
