A community banker is available each Wednesday between 9am and 3pm in the Festival Drayton Centre.

The banker provides face-to-face services to customers, including making payments, account enquiries and online banking support.

Market Drayton residents feared life would be 'made harder' for those who relied on the Lloyds branch in Cheshire Street after it was shut on November 27 - two years after the nearby Barclays branch was closed.

292 branches under the Lloyds Banking Group have closed their doors to customers nationwide. Lloyds says more than 68 per cent of their personal customers from each branch already use other means of banking, such as mobile, internet and phone banking.

A Lloyds bank spokesperson said: "Our Lloyds Community Banker is available every Wednesday in Festival Drayton Centre between 9am and 3pm, providing face to face services to customers, including making payments, account enquiries and online banking support.

"You can find more information on our Community Bankers on our website.

"Banking Hubs are a different option for face-to-face support. They are set up and run by Cash Access UK, as they provide services for customers of all major UK banks - so their team will be able to help with further details on the Hubs."
