The next Network of Women event – delivered by Shropshire Chamber of Commerce – will take place on Wednesday, November 20, from 11am to 4pm.

Held the Weston Park, guests will hear from keynote speaker Naomi Atkin, chief executive officer of the Lingen Davies Cancer Fund.

She will discuss how experiences at work help to shape values, and how to hold onto values at work and elsewhere, especially when these situations are tested by challenging life events.

Naomi said: “Learning to understand what’s important to you in your work, your personal ‘red lines’ that won’t be crossed, and making sure you can end the working day confident that you have done everything you can is a difficult but vital state-of-mind.”

Naomi has been chief executive of the Lingen Davies Cancer Fund since 2016, and previously had a career in the Students’ Union movement and in outdoor education.

Kelly Riedel, Shropshire Chamber’s events and training manager, said: “Network of Women is all about creating a relaxed group where women can connect and forge mutually-beneficial relationships with like-minded people from across the region.

“Our meetings buzz with energy, offering the perfect chance to meet new people, gain fresh insights, and elevate your business.

“With a professional yet friendly atmosphere, women from all types of businesses in Shropshire are welcome and – if they wish – have the opportunity to share their successes and knowledge with the group.

“In addition to our guest speaker presentation, our agenda for the November 20 event will include an opportunity for all guests to deliver a 60-second introduction, and there will also be a networking buffet lunch.”
