The colours of autumn: Shropshire Star readers come up trumps with their seasonal pictures

When the Star asked our readers to share their images of the county in autumn they really pulled out all the stops.

Our Facebook page request saw an amazing response and these are just a few. Sorry to anyone whose image was not chosen.

Claire Harrison sent an image of life on the canal which was so good we're still not sure whether it is an oil painting or a photo.

Di Price was one of many who sent pictures of dogs in the leaves. Jarvis loves autumn.

There were loads of pictures of tree-lined avenues and this one from Julia Sterling had us all misty-eyed.

It looks like Krisography-LensJedi has an eye for the unusual as this shot of a person leaping over railway lines shows. 

Leanne Pugh has an eye for the close up beauty of autumn with this spectacular leaf.

Leigh Welch decided to post this picture of woodland and we're glad she did.

Neil Henderson's focus was on canals which are a particular focus of autumnal interest according to the responses from Star readers. 

Nigel Davies has the honour of having two of his shots selected. One of the Ironbridge Gorge and the other of a leafy park bench. 

We also had lots of images of other county beauty spots, not least the Carding Mill Valley and this image sent in by Puddle Duck Cottages looking across the stunning south Shropshire landscape.

There are so many spots worthy of a mention so here's Rachael Nixon's picture from Coalbrookdale.

The light at this time of year is so gorgeous and Sian Ferris shows it in this shot.

And last but not least, here's a close up of a leaf that was submitted by Rob Evans.
