Lorry crashes into power line at Bayston Hill in Shrewsbury - hours after another lorry crashed into a pub

Shropshire Fire & Rescue Service was called on Monday afternoon to Pulley Lane, in Bayston Hill, on the A49 near Shrewsbury.

The incident is just hours after a crash where a pub and a takeaway were crashed into by a lorry in the village.

A spokesperson for the fire service said a fire engine from Shrewsbury was scrambled to the scene.

The said there has been a report of an overhead power line being knocked down by a lorry.

A spokesperson for the fire service later said that an "electricity cable was pulled from power box by passing vehicle. 

"Fire Service personnel cordoned off the area and incident left with National Grid.

A power cut had also been reported in the area affecting up to 28 customers with an estimated restoration time of 10pm.

National Grid says that the reason for outage is third party damage to the network
