1972: And another thing, your royal highness... Meeting Mr and Mrs Bill Hughes outside their house at Brookside, Telford, in July 1972.
1952: On October 24 the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh visited Shrewsbury School in its 400th anniversary year. They are pictured at Shrewsbury Castle. It was one of the first royal visits of her reign, and the first official visit to Shrewsbury by a reigning monarch since 1914.

1969: The Duke flies in - and out. Prince Philip piloted an Andover of the Queen's Flight into RAF Shawbury during a heavy downpour. After a brisk walk across the tarmac, he climbed into the cockpit of a helicopter and flew himself out en route for Keele University.
