Roads chaos after traffic lights fail on Shrewsbury's Dobbies roundabout

By Jonny Drury | Shrewsbury | News | Published:

Traffic light failure on one of Shropshire's busiest roundabouts has caused chaos for a second time this week.

Earlier this week traffic lights failed on Dobbies roundabout in the A5 in Shrewsbury and at around 12pm this afternoon, the same thing happened again.

Tailbacks in north and south directions have seen motorists travelling at a maximum of 5mph.

AA Roadwatch said: "Queueing traffic due to traffic signal failure on A5 Hereford Road at Hereford Road/A49 (Dobbies Island). Caller reports that the traffic lights have failed at the Dobbies Island."

Online maps were showing traffic backed up to the roundabout for Royal Shrewsbury Hospital.
