Dyfed-Powys Police pulled over a group of motorbike riders on the Upper Dolfor Road between Newtown and Dolfor on Sunday morning, due to concerns about the manner of riding.

The majority of the group pulled over, however one rider of a BMW motorbike made off from officers and lost control on a set of bends.

The incident occurred at 10.15am, and an ambulance attended.

The man was taken to hospital and the road was closed for several hours, before being reopened at 3.30pm.

Officers are now appealing for witnesses to the incident to come forward.

A Dyfed-Powys Police spokesman said: "Officers are investigating and appealing for witnesses who saw the motorbike before the collision.

"Anyone with information is urged to contact PC 716 Davies at Newtown Roads Policing Unit by calling 101."
