Two crews from Albrighton and Tweedale were called to the address in Charles Avenue just after 1.15pm.

Firefighters forced entry to the property, which had become smoke-logged as cooking was left unattended.

Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service said there was nobody else in the terraced house and the dog was all right.

Crews used four breathing apparatus, two hose reel jets and positive pressure ventilation.
