Police conclude investigation into Newtown sex attack report

Police have concluded an investigation into a report of a serious sexual assault in a Mid Wales town park.

Dyfed-Powys Police were investigating a report of a sexual assault in Dolerw Park in Newtown, which was alleged to have taken place in the early hours of February 24.

Police had appealed for people with information to come forward, however they have now said they are no longer investigating the report.

A spokeswoman for the force said: "Dyfed-Powys Police can confirm that an investigation into a report of a sexual assault at Dolerw Park, Newtown has now concluded. Police are no longer investigating the report.

"Dyfed-Powys Police take all reports of sexual assault seriously and would encourage anyone who has experienced sexual abuse to contact police.

"Regardless of whether you choose to report the crime, Goleudy Victim and Witness Service can provide you with further support and assistance. Call 0300 1232996 or email goleudy@dyfed-powys.pnn."
