The Shropshire-raised celebrity, who has appeared in a string of TV shows and is one of the country's most sought after comics, has become one of Grinshill Animal Rescue Centre's most famous supporters.

Greg, who was born in Denbighshire, but grew up in Wem, visited the centre near the town today.
Posting on the centre's Facebook page yesterday, Kate Aspinall said: "Exciting news today here at the Grinshill camp. We are very honoured to be able to announce the hugely talented comedian and actor Greg Davies as our patron."

As well as becoming nationally known for this comedy, Greg also recently appeared in the BBC family history show Who Do You Think You Are.
Show viewers heard that despite his parents living in England at the time he was born, his dad insisted that Greg should come into the world on Welsh soil so that when when he became a rugby international, he would play for Wales.
Fortunately for comedy, Greg showed little talent for rugby.
