Letter: BBC 'propaganda machine working against British public'

Published

In this country we have a fully publicly funded organisation known as the British Broadcasting Corporation.

A group that works against us by continually shoving out propaganda that all our problems are, in the main, of our own making.

Our hospitals are overcrowded and struggling to provide the service we are supposed to receive but it doesn't matter that the NHS is continually having to cope with an increase in population close to the size of the population of Bristol every year.

The BBC shows the usual pictures of silver haired old ladies and gentlemen in beds or on trolleys who are blamed completely for the waiting times we suffer. They don't go into hospitals and actually film the truth of an health service funded for 60 million but trying to cater for 75 million.

Politicians of all persuasions call for more funds to be found but until we get out of this abominable club called the EU and stop paying the acknowledged £55,000,000 per day, 14 per cent of the total costs of running it, it must be rather difficult to raise the sort of sums we need to run a world health service.

Everywhere you look in this country the BBC works against us. Even the diversity of their staff no way reflects the alleged true position of ethnic numbers in this country and almost every time they feature a school doing well it is normally a school with a mainly ethnic majority of students.

This is not a true picture and they know it. We still have wonderful young white children achieving in this country and winning recognition all over the world and wonderful ethnic minority children are a bonus. Furthermore, what the BBC should remember it is the old people of this country who have paid the price in so many ways for the NHS and almost all of the benefits that we now enjoy.

The BBC hates the fact that they, and all the rest of the media, got it wrong with the Brexit vote and they continually try to make it appear that we were wrong and would be better off staying in. They might be! But the British people know better and if the BBC had quietly carried out country-wide checks before the vote they would have known too. They were too busy with propaganda trying to get us to vote their way.

Personally, I would close down the BBC or at least make it become self-funding. Anybody who thinks that the BBC is not a propaganda machine and often works against us should open their eyes.
