Shropshire pupils unite for a day of fun and activities at college

Bishop's Castle Community College put on the "primary enrichment day" for schools in the area.

The visiting children, aged four to 11 years old, enjoyed a multitude of activities throughout day.

Many will end up moving to the high school when they are older and the theme of the day was co-operation and collaboration, with a bit of healthy competition thrown in.

Older Year 8 and 9 students from the high school itself acted as helpers for the day, hosting activities such as Olympic sports, treasure hunts, model-making and tower building. The day culminated in a dramatic aerial photo of all those involved, taken with a drone camera.

Alan Doust, headteacher of the community college, said: "By the end of the day we were exhausted, particularly the little ones, but we were all grinning ear to ear."

The event was organised by the schools that form part of South West Shropshire Learning Trust.

It is made up of the Community College in Bishop's Castle, Bishop's Castle Primary School, St Georges Primary School, Norbury Primary School, Lydbury North Primary School, Onny Primary School, Hope Primary School, Chirbury Primary School, Stiperstones Primary School, Clunbury Primary School and Newcastle Primary School.
