Two cars wrecked by fire in Shrewsbury

One was car was destoyed and another seriously damaged when they caught fire in Shrewsbury.

The first car caught alight in Meadow Farm Drive shortly before 4pm on Saturday.

Shropshire Fire and Rescue said approximately 50 per cent of the vehicle was damaged.

A crew from Shrewsbury attended the scene and used two breathing apparatus and a hose reel jet used to deal with the fire.

The second car was destroyed after it became engulfed in flames in Huffley Lane at about 6.45pm.

Firefighters from Shrewsbury were called to the scene and again used breathing apparatus and a hose reel jet.
