Good Beer guide hails top ale at Market Drayton pub
Drinkers at a Shropshire pub will be able to raise a glass to the establishment after it was praised for the quality of its real ale.
The Sandbrook Vaults in Market Drayton is celebrating after being listed in the Camra Good Beer Guide for 2016.
Local branch members chose the Joules Brewery pub following regular visits to check on the quality of the real ales on offer. They also took into account customer service, decor and overall atmosphere.
Manager James Joule said it was great news for the town. He said: "We are really pleased to be included in the guide this year and hopefully we will be listed again next year. It is great to be nominated by local members and we were pleased to see a branch of Camra recently set up in Market Drayton.
"We work hard to maintain the high quality of beer here and so does the brewery so it is nice to see that hard work pay off.
"It is a real positive for the town. I think the pub scene in Market Drayton is growing and we are seeing people travelling from all over the county to come see what we have to offer. We sell three Joules ales here which are all very popular. Joules is a Market Drayton brewery so it is great to support the local produce.
"It is really nice to put Market Drayton back on the map serving great beer."
Other pubs selected by the Market Drayton branch for inclusion in the guide were Clive & Coffyne in Shropshire Street and the Red Lion in Great Hales Street.
The Good Beer Guide is updated each year and features 4,500 pubs across the UK that serve the best real ale. The guide, which is now in its 43rd edition, is completely independent with listings based entirely on nomination and evaluation by Camra members.
