Six-vehicle crash in Shrewsbury closes the A5

A crash involving seven vehicles on the A5 in Shrewsbury closed the road this morning and is causing massive tailbacks in the area.

Four fire crews from Shrewsbury and Wellington were called to the crash on the A5 between the Edgebold roundabout at Hanwood and the Dobbies Island which happened at 8.40am this morning.

Traffic was also very busy on the Shelton Road, Roman Road, Radbrook Road and Longden Road following the closure.

Three casualties, a man in his 50's, a woman in her 20's and another in her 40's have been treated by the ambulance service - but their injuries were thought to be minor.

The road reopened at 10.30am.
