Billy Langford, of Wilkinsons Avenue, Broseley, admitted the possession and the production of cannabis in August 2014.

Mr Michael Sherwood Smith, for Langford said his client maintained that the plants he grew were to produce cannabis for his own personal use.

"He would have sold some to his friends on request," said Mr Sherwood Smith.

"Four plants would only have produced a small crop," he told the court.

Judge Peter Barrie adjourned the case against Langford on Monday for reports until the week beginning February 23.
