It was taken last Tuesday night.

The theft comes after two other bikes were stolen in another burglary.

A garage in Ladymass Road in Hadnall, Shrewsbury, was broken into, causing substantial damage.

Two bikes were taken valued between £3,000 and £3,500 each. Both were used to compete in races.

The bikes are thought to be an easy target for thieves as they do not have a registration number plate and are worth a lot of money.

Garage worker Mr Busby said: "When my mum told me we had been broken into, I didn't even know what to think.

"The bike is worth quite a lot, but they are sold on for around £500 to £1,000 to get rid of them quickly."

Mr Busby said everything was left untouched in the garage apart from the bike which was stolen.

He said: "I live in the countryside so nobody would even know where I keep my bike. Somebody must have been watching and following me to see where I put it. I feel so angry and upset that it has happened. I have been paying for my bike since I was 16 years old."

A West Mercia Police spokesman said: "This is a distinctive looking motorcycle; it is described as orange and white in colour. We urge the public to always be vigilant and report any suspicious activity."

The spokesman said if anyone has been approached by anyone trying to sell the bike, or has information regarding its whereabouts, then they should call 101 quoting 100s 28th January 2015.

The burglary in Shrewsbury took place between 1am and 6am on Friday, January 23 and police are appealing for witnesses.

The first bike was a KTM motorcross, orange in colour and made in 2012.

There are stickers on the side, front and side panels of the bike displaying the number 64.

The second was a green Kawasaki motocross which has stickers on the front and side panels displaying the number 891.

He added for extra security when storing high value goods, fitting a quality alarm and good quality locks should be considered.
