Oswestry gay sex attack man hunted by police

A man has been seriously sexually assaulted by another man in Oswestry.

The victim was walking along Liverpool Road in the north of the town in the early hours of yesterday when the incident took place.

West Mercia Police are investigating what officers described as a serious sexual assault.

A spokesman said: "The incident occurred between 1.50 and 2.50am. The suspect was described as a white male, around five foot five inches tall and of slim build. At the time of the incident he was wearing a black hooded top with the hood up, light grey jogging bottoms with a motif on the left side around the pocket area."

The attacker was also described as having an eastern European accent and smelling of cannabis.

Anyone who saw a man matching this description in the area or who has any information to assist with the investigation is urged to contact police on 101 quoting incident number 109 of October 12.
