He's famous for encouraging you to work out with him in front of the television, but this group of sporty fundraisers had the real deal.

And Mr Motivator wasn't letting his dislocated knee get in the way.

His usual bright headband and orange shorts were joined by a leg brace when the fitness guru took to the stage at Wrekin College in Telford last night to support a school in Jamaica.

Organised by local fitness instructor, Elishah Crutchley, Mr Motivator said he couldn't wait to get started.

He said: "I've known Elishah since she wrote to me trying to get into fitness, and she's got quite a following now.

"I've been mentoring her for about five years, and when she said she'd be doing a fundraiser for the school, I said I'd come along - I'm flying back down to London straight afterwards!"

And while he had to back out of gymnastics and circus skills TV show Tumble because of his injury, Mr Motivator didn't sit on the sidelines last night.

"I've got to be careful," he said. "I can't twist and turn but I can create an atmosphere - that's what it's all about, we are having a party tonight!

"It's all about having fun, it's not about someone telling you to get fit and be healthy, it's about smiling and enjoying it.

"And the bright colours - they make people happy. Well if I got started wearing a black T-shirt and white shorts I don't think I'd be speaking here now."

And the motivator was in full swing as he took to the stage in his colourful lycra and shorts.

Ms Crutchley said: "It's so great having him here, it's just lovely that he could make it.

"It's a great cause with all the money going to the school - they don't have the basics out there like water and security, it's been broken into before.

And with more than 50 people taking part the event was a great success, with bokwa, zumba, and fitsteps all on the sporty schedule.
