Newport holiday club enjoys summer fun

A thriving annual church holiday club is under way in Shropshire again, with youngsters lining up to lap up the fun.

Newport Baptist Church's Summer Holiday Bible Club is running all this week for children aged five to 11.The youngsters listen to Bible stories and also get to enjoy puppet shows, games, quizzes, craft making and sing-alongs.

Pastor John Wood, from the church, said: "This year the theme is Follow the Leader and the children will have loads of fun as they learn about following Jesus."

The club runs from 10am to noon until Friday. Admission to cover costs is £2.50-a-day though for families with three children the third child will be admitted for free.

Pastor Wood said no-one would be turned away who could not afford to pay.
