It's the dream of many young children - getting to spend hours making their own buildings out of Lego.

But for one scout group in Shropshire, their love for all things Lego has helped them win a national competition. Now they have presented with 10 customised miniature figures all dressed in the troop's uniform as a prize.

Members of the 2nd Market Drayton Scout Group created their own dream headquarters featuring an archery area, splash zone for boating, and underground caves. Other stand-out features included wind turbines, climbing walls and zoos - and even a unicorn enclosure.

Their design for the Build Your Dream HQ... with Lego competition was declared the winner out of more than 50 entries across the country.

Youngsters aged between 10 and 14 took part in the project, and group leader Gareth Jenner said the scouts were thrilled to find out they had won.

He said: "They were just over the moon!

"We saw the competition in the December issue of the magazine, and thought it would be a fun activity. "They all love Lego, and thought it was a brilliant competition.

"So I brought along a big box of the stuff, put in on the floor and off they went.

"I didn't know if we'd win really, we just thought it was a good thing to have a go at, and a nice session just after Christmas.

"We took some photos, sent them in and then checked the next issue to see who had won, and low and behold our dream headquarters were there.

"We're putting the Lego figures in a frame, with a T-shirt we've won, and all the scouts get a badge too. That way it will be on the wall for people to see for years to come, and everyone gets to enjoy the prizes.

"We're definitely going to be entering some more competitions, it was great fun."
