Woman flees after man licks her face in Telford street

A woman broke free and escaped a man who grabbed her and licked her face as she walked along a Telford street.

Police in Telford are appealing for information from the public after the incident in Overdale.

The incident occurred near Rock Road on Thursday.

Sometime between 4.30pm and 4.45pm, the 45-year-old woman was walking along a lane off Rock Road when she was approached by an unknown man who suddenly grabbed her by the arm.

While holding her arm the man made suggestive comments to the woman and then, without warning, licked on the cheek.

He then asked the woman for her telephone number but she did not respond and quickly freed herself from him and left the scene.

Police are keen to hear from anyone else who thinks they may also have been approached by this man, or anyone who thinks they may have information about this particular incident.

At the present time no detailed description of the man involved in this incident is available.
