Up to 150,000 chickens will be kept inside three buildings at Meadowland Poultry in Sleap, near Wem, at any one time. The farm will be able to produce the volume of chickens seven times a year.

Shropshire Council's north planning committee approved the plans at a meeting in Wem yesterday, where the proposed site was described by Councillor Gerald Dakin, member for Whitchurch South, as a 'dream site' for the development.
