Mid Wales rapist is jailed for 11 years

Mid Wales | News | Published:

A serial sex attacker was today starting an 11-year jail term after being convicted of two rapes.

Parminder Singh, 22, was described as an 'arrogant self-centred bully' after being convicted of the two separate attacks in Mid Wales.

He was jailed by a judge at Caernarfon Crown Court after an eight-day trial at which he had denied the offences.

The court was told Singh, of Heathfield Lane West, Wolverhampton, was living between Wolverhampton and Newtown at the time of the offences in the Newtown area in July 2012.

Police today welcomed Friday's conviction and sentencing.

Detective Inspector Diane Davies, from Dyfed-Powys Police, said when the judge passed sentence he described Singh as 'an arrogant, self-centred bully with no respect for women' who 'considered them to be on earth for his sexual gratification only to then be cast aside'.

"I couldn't put it any better," she added.
