Armed police were called to a house in Newport after a man in his 40s claimed to have a gun and made threats to hurt another person.
Police were called to the property in Audley Avenue yesterday after receiving a call from a man saying he was going to harm himself and someone else.
But when armed officers arrived at the scene they found no evidence of any weapons. The man was taken to Malinsgate Police Station, but was later released without charge.
