The 35-year-old, a teacher at Newdale Primary School in Telford, tied the knot with bride Hollie Adams, 28, over the summer.

The couple were married at St Chad's Church in Shrewsbury before the evening reception at Iscoyd Park near Whitchurch.

Some of Sam's former Shrewsbury Town team-mates were at the wedding.

"The whole day was fantastic," said Sam, who made 191 appearances for Town between 2000 and 2005.

"The church was beautiful and we had a great time at the reception. Hollie was really nervous but I was just looking forward to seeing all my old football mates and getting everyone together. It couldn't have gone better."

The couple, who have two children aged six and two, then jetted off for five days of luxury in Dubai.

The new Mrs Aiston, who is from Shrewsbury, said she was terrified when she woke up but the nerves soon left when she saw her man waiting at the end of the aisle.
