A woman has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man's body was found at a Shropshire home.

The 30-year-old woman from Telford was arrested today after the discovery of the 57-year-old man's body in a first floor flat in Old School Mews, Bridgnorth.

She was being questioned at Shrewsbury's main police station in Monkmoor this evening.

The man, who has not been named, was found dead in the flat just after noon yesterday.

A post-mortem was carried out this afternoon and the flat, just off the town's main high street, remained sealed off tonight.

One resident said the dead man had only recently moved to the area.

"He seemed like a nice man. He hadn't been here very long, maybe only a few months.

"I only found out he had died last night when police came to interview me."
