Historical writer Julie Phillips, crime author AJ Griffiths-Jones and sci-fi specialist Lisa Jade will be among 17 authors coming to the library at Southwater One between 10am and 2pm on Saturday, April 27.

They will sign books and lead question and answer sessions at the event, which will form part of Telford's St George's Day celebrations.

Julie Phillips, who organised the meet and greet, said: "“This is a really exciting event that gives me and other local writers the opportunity to meet and chat with our readers and that’s always an invaluable experience that inspires us in our future work.

“We would like to thank Telford & Wrekin Libraries for continuously supporting us and for providing the venue for our book signings and interaction with the public.”

Poet Jonny Fluffypunk will also perform readings in Southwater.

Andrew Woodall of the Southwater Library said: “We are delighted to host these family favourite events to support ‘Spring into St George’s Day’ celebrations in the nearby Town Park.

“Our previous 'Meet the author’ event and poetry sessions have proved really popular and we aim to continue those to encourage wider reading but also to support our local authors in promoting their work.”

The Spring into St George's Day event will include a parade from the library into the town park arena, as well as a dog show, circus skills tent, horse stunt show and go-karting.
