Toni and the Ogre in Ironbridge

Shropshire-born illustrator Toni Sian Williams has written and designed The Ironbridge Ogre, which will be launched next month.

And the ogre himself took to the streets of the town with Toni, surprising passers by and even waving at a passing police car. He also took a trip to Telford Town Park.

As part of Telford's 50th anniversary celebrations, every primary school in Telford is to receive a limited edition copy of Toni's book as a special gift from Telford & Wrekin Council.

The book's official launch will be held at Southwater Library on November 1, with the Mayor of Telford Raj Mehta and council leader Shaun Davies attending.

Toni also illustrated The Wrekin Giant and The Wellington Cobbler back in 2013.
