Dick and Alice, played by Benjamin Cupit and Amie Howes went in search of his faithful companion at Telford's Hoo Farm but couldn't track it down.

Instead, they're hoping to find the stealthy sidekick at Telford's first ever Easter pantomime, starting a week today.

But the pair remained tight lipped on the identity of the town's "very special" cat.

Pantomania is an adaption of the Dick Whittington story rewritten for Telford's 50th anniversary celebrations.

The show takes on some unique Telford twists and features three teams of children from local dance schools.

Debbie King, theatre manager, said: “We are getting very excited now for our first show next week – we are renowned here in Telford for the quality of our pantomime productions with people coming from both Telford and out of town and this production will be no different.”

Pantomania will run from April 5. Tickets are available from theplacetelford.com by calling the box office on 01952 382382.
