The Beardy Folk Festival will be held in the grounds of Hopton Court in the small village of Hopton Wafers, near Cleobury Mortimer.

Amongst the line-up at the family-friendly festival, which opens on Friday night will be Nick Heyward from 80s hit band Haircut 100, Skerryvorre, False Lights, Jess Morgan, Granny's Attic, Kitty MacFarlane and Skinner & Twitch.

There will be two stages at the festival ground - the main stage and the acoustic stage.

Billed as the Midsummer Music Festival, the event's organisers are hoping to draw in crowds from miles around to hear a mixture of music including bluegrass and Americana.

There will also be food and drink, dancing and children's entertainment.

And if festival goers go down to the woods, they will be in for a surprise with storytelling and woodland walks.

For those that get a little peckish, there will be pizza, Indian street food, wraps and vegetarian. Hobson's Brewery will be offering ales and ciders and there will also be a cocktail bar.

Festival-goers wanting to camp will be able to do so in three zones where fire pits and BBQs are welcome and there will also be showers on site.

Organiser Dave Spier, said: "Beardy Folk Festival is a new, beautifully crafted, Midsummer music weekend boasting a brilliant line up of contemporary and traditional folk music with helpings of acoustic, indie, bluegrass, country & Americana.

"Set in the beautiful grounds of Hopton Court amidst stunning Shropshire countryside, with the music arena hidden inside a secret 19th century walled garden.

"There's so much to see and do around the festival site with 30 music artists over two stages, an artisan food court, real ale, cider & cocktail bars, a small trade village, freestyle fitness yoga, Morris & Appalachian dancing plus heaps of children's entertainment including circus workshops & shows, traditional fairground rides, some enchanted woods hosting family activities, storytelling and a woodland walk.2

The festival site opens at midday on Friday (22).

Tickets for the weekend cost £115 per person. Day tickets are available from £25 per adult. Under 13s go free.
