One of Shrewsbury’s newest restaurants has closed its doors for the final time – just eight months after it opened.

Biggies Diner closes, but will re-open as a new bar

Biggies Diner in Frankwell opened last December taking the place of The Silverton Hotel.

Now bosses have decided to rebrand the business as the Severn Social Dive Bar.

The bar will serve food and drink and the menu has been designed by Liam Watton, executive chef from House of the Rising Sun. Alongside 14 TV screens showing live sport, there will be ping pong tables and foosball.

In a statement on social media the owners of Biggies said: “Biggies has closed due to a few operational problems and we felt this meant we weren’t giving out the best we could.”
