Michael Buble announces first performance since son was diagnosed with cancer

He will headline next summer’s British Summer Time in Hyde Park.

Michael Buble is to return to the UK for a headline performance a year after he put his career on hold when his son was diagnosed with cancer.

The Everything singer is to top the bill at British Summer Time in Hyde Park in July 2018, for his only gig in the UK of the year.

It is his first scheduled date since he and actress wife Luisana Lopilato announced their eldest son, Noah – then three, had been diagnosed with cancer in November 2016.

Shortly afterwards, Buble pulled out of hosting the 2017 Brit Awards and also withdrew from a BBC Music event.

They have been updating fans on the youngster’s recovery, and in April Lopilato told reporters the couple were “looking forward to thinking about the future, to seeing our children grow”.

The entertainer is the third headline act to be announced for the BST festival series after Pink Floyd star Roger Waters and Bruno Mars.
