Singer Dua Lipa and Reading rockers The Amazons have been honoured with Ascap Vanguard Awards for their influence on their musical genres.

They were presented with their prizes by the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (Ascap) during a ceremony in central London on Monday.

Lipa, who has recently seen chart success with her pop sensation New Rules, and The Amazons, who released their self-titled debut album this year, were joined by music producer Steve Mac, receiving the Founders award for his 27 years of “pioneering” work in the industry.
