The final trailer for Stranger Things teases a spooky season two after landing in style on Friday the 13th.

Coming two weeks ahead of the return of the hit Netflix series, the near-three minute trailer offers a glimpse of a bigger, more sinister threat that is threatening to engulf the town of Hawkins, Indiana.

“They are not nightmares, it’s happening,” utters chief of police Jim Hopper (David Harbour) as the aftershocks of Will Byers (Noah Schnapp) continue to be felt.

Opening with Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) alone in the woods, the trailer offers evidence of a tentacle-flaunting creature emerging from the sky.

There are glimpses of new characters, portrayed by Paul Reiser and Sean Astin, as Lucas Sinclair (Caleb McLaughlin) utters three fateful words: “It’s judgement day.”

Fans of the popular series took to social media to revel in their excitement over the trailer.

One user wrote on Twitter: “I can’t cope, I just can’t be chill about it. Impatiently waiting for StrangerThings2 to come out.”

“Stranger Things is one of the most incredible series I’ve ever seen. It magically took me right back into my 80s childhood,” tweeted Brandon Scott.

The second series of Stranger Things arrives on Netflix on October 27.
