Outnumbered star Tyger Drew-Honey left with his “head held high” as he was eliminated from Celebrity MasterChef at the first hurdle.

The actor’s “ragged” fish pie with prawns, grated carrots, tomatoes and spinach was dubbed a “washout” by judges Gregg Wallace and John Torode.

The 21-year-old’s chocolate mousse dessert was better received but was not enough to save him from the chop as he went up against Olympic swimmer Rebecca Adlington, Radio DJ Dev Griffin, presenter Debbie McGee and singer Rachel Stevens.

After he was given the boot, Drew-Honey said: “Today I didn’t do well enough but you’ve just got to let these things go and strive to do better in other things.

He added: I’m still glad to have the experience and I’ll walk away with my head held high.”

The four remaining celebrities will now go up against each other for a place in the semi-finals.

MasterChef continues on Friday at 8.30pm on BBC One.
